    散点图(scatterplot)是一种使用非常广泛的可视化技术,常用于聚类分析、离群点分析、相关性分析等。多类散点图(multi-class scatterplot)作为散点图的一种扩展,其常用于比较分析应用。然而,随着数据规模的增大,有限的屏幕空间所造成的散点覆叠(overdraw)问题极大地限制了用户对可视化结果的正确感知。本文提出了一种基于多类蓝噪声采样的方法实现多类散点数据的可视简化。为了增强简化结果的感知,本文还提出了一个散点颜色优化模型和一些散点形状设计方案。上图中是不同多类散点图可视化方法比较。(a) 传统多类散点图;(b) Splatterplots;(c) 采用噪声增强的Splatterplots;(d) 我们的方法。

    通过与搜索引擎领域相关的专家合作,我们设计了如下的动态流图(Flow View)以展现用户在使用不同搜索引擎时的忠诚度变化。图中颜色的深浅用于代表用户忠诚度的高低,流图中每条带子的宽度表示相应忠诚度下用户的数量。通过在带子上添加分支,LoyalTracker可以帮助专家有效地理解当前搜索引擎中用户忠诚度的分布和不同忠诚度的用户在使用搜索引擎时候的动态转变行为。
